Internally, there was uncertainty. From 3rd-G Cristobal and Ira Cruz bowing out in the early years to Jobert Buencamino having to leave during the height of their career, the unit plowed through. Still, mutual friction among members, the unprepared curse of  “too much, too soon” and the loss of passion to serve the music just added more to the pressure of the young lads.

1996 saw the departure of Paco Arespacochaga. Despite this event, the band decided to go on. It was a year later that Jonathan Buencamino suffered an illness that caused him to lose his voice indefinitely. And so was the expected demise of Introvoys.

Year after year, the memory of the band that paved the way for more bands to enter the mainstream, faded away altogether. However, their songs remained a small beacon in their darkest times. Songs like “Line to Heaven”, “Kailanman”, Will I Survive”, “Calling All Nations”, “Lullabye”, “Maynila” and “More Than a Friend” somehow found its way into the hearts of a younger generation, a generation that has never had a chance to see INTRoVOYS.

The start of the millennium brought INTRoVOYS together again! But it wasn’t easy to keep them together. Personal lives have changed. Personal needs have changed. Personal goals have changed. And this was just from within. Outside, the musical climate had also changed. The generation they grew up with had also changed. After 6 multi-platinum albums, was INTRoVOYS even relevant at all?

2005 welcomed the release of the bands 7th album, A Brighter Day. For the fans, the outing of the 12 original tracks signified the fresh downpour of rain after a very long drought! Released through the band’s own label, 2heaven Muzik, the album did significantly well!

2006, twenty years since the day Jonathan, Paco and 3rd-G entered the door to the rehearsal studio that would eventually shape a generation, INTRoVOYS is back! Everyone is excited! And what’s even more exciting is the introduction of new ‘voys members Chot Ulep and Steve Guadiz.

The energy delivered by the new quintet is outrageous! It changed everything! And it changed everything for the positive! Chot and Steve came at a time not too early, not too late. And because the past does not equal the present, they’ve decided to commemorate the start of a new era of INTRoVOYS by releasing the first greatest hits studio album! Aptly entitled NEW BEGINNINGS, the album is a way of saying “thank you” to the people who have stayed with them over the years. It also serves as an introduction to the sound of INTRoVOYS and stepping stone to where they are to go! The future hasn’t been written, the past has been done. Today is a NEW BEGINNING!
